Brief
Dawnus was designed to document the on-going creative achievements of one artist. It is not too dissimilar in conception to a blog with many categories although a shop was included for bespoke items.
Implementation
The site was created from scratch using object oriented PHP code with a MySQL database. All pages validate as XHTML 1.0 strict.
Flash applications are embedded within many of the XHTML pages to present the data and graphics. These applications load XML data compiled from the database dynamically upon each page load.
JQuery is used throughout the site including for the main accordion menus, to embed flash content and for other animation effects including lightbox image pop-ups.
TinyMCE offers rich text editing from within the administration pages.
All session data is run from database tables for improved security on a shared hosting provider.
