Punk My Peg

Brief
A viral campaign created for Leeds City Council’s FollowAlex brand which is attached to Breeze, a service providing kids’ outdoor events in the Leeds Area. The concept behind the app was that kids could customise their own peg and post an image to their facebook wall for their friends to see.
Implementation
An XML settings file contains the data for all the category panels including; panel order, panel position and the 8 options within each panel. Each option has a corresponding movie clip in the library which is overlayed on top of the peg when clicked. The thumbnail images are copies of the original clips, resized and rotated (these are set in the XML settings file).
I used the BitmapData and JPEG Encoding corelib classes to create the final image, which I then sent to the server where the PHP saved the required image and user data.
